Today Pixar announced that they will begin work on the sequel to Finding Nemo, the cleverly named Finding Dory. Although little has been disclosed so far, Disney has promised the return of Marlin, Nemo, and Dory, including the original cast who voiced them. Disney has also confirmed that part of the film will be set on the California coastline.
As star of the new sequel, Ellen DeGeneras had a few words to say of her own:
“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” she said. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16.”
The release date is set as November 25, 2015, which seems like an eternity away. Fortunately, we’ll have the Monsters Inc. sequel, Monsters University, to tide us over until then.
